Design Studies
Thoughtful objects begin with thoughtful questions.
Design Studies is our space for investigating the relationship between materials, form and how people live. It holds sketches, observations and propositions—some of which may become products, while others remain useful explorations in their own right.
Study 001 / Surface and Movement
What happens when a pattern is experienced from different distances? Up close, yarn, pile and colour shifts are visible as individual marks. Across a room, the same marks form a field that relates to furniture, architecture and light.
Our first rug, SOREVA, offers one response. Its abstract arrangement of ivory, stone, taupe and earthy brown avoids a fixed repeat. Read the SOREVA design story or explore the FORM collection.
Study 002 / Material and Light
Matte and lustrous materials can create depth without relying on bright colour. Wool and viscose offer different tactile and reflective qualities, making them an interesting pairing to study in contemporary textiles. Learn more in Wool and Viscose Rugs.
Study 003 / Objects in Space
How does an object make sense in a room? We consider the scale of seating, the mass of tables, everyday movement and the balance between visible and quiet details. Future explorations will extend this perspective into furniture and other living objects when genuine project material is ready to share.
From study to commission
A study is not an offer for sale or a guarantee that a product will be manufactured. If you are interested in discussing a concept for a project, contact Astiva Trade with details. Feasibility, specifications, timeline and price require written confirmation before an order.
